I have been having a difficult time with "blogger" (the website I use to blog) lately, and will try one last time to get these pictures posted! Enjoy! Students listened to the story "Spookley the Square Pumpkin" in October. After listening to the story, and listing words to describe the main character of the book, students used graham crackers and frosting to make their own "edible Spookley." Students also listened to the story "Pete the Cat and the Five Little Pumpkins." After listening to the story, students were given popsicle sticks and clothespins, and were presented with the challenge of building a fence for 5 little pumpkins to rest on using only those two materials. The students worked in pairs to complete this task. It was interesting to watch the students create and test their designs---I think we have some future engineers in the class!!
