We are 100 Days Smarter!

What a FUN 100th day of school celebration we had. The students have been eagerly counting to 100 days since August, and could not WAIT until we got to this special day.

We started the day with a special 100 Day Snack...yum yum yum!

After that, students created special 100th day hats to wear. Each hat had 10 strips of paper and each strip of paper had 10 designs on it...to make 100 designs!

Then students shared their 100 day collections...each student was asked to bring in a collection from home of 100 items. It was interesting to see how many different collections we had!  Mrs. Allnutt also brought a collection of 100 Hershey kisses...but she tripped before she got to the room and they landed everywhere! The students worked hard to hunt around the room for the 100 Hershey kisses and used a 100's chart to keep track of their progress!

Later in the morning students used 100 Fruit Loops to make a necklace.

The afternoon was spent reading many different books about the number 100...we read "The Wolf's Chicken Stew," "100 Hungry Ants" and "The 100th Day of School." Ask your child which book was his/her favorite.

We ended the day by working on 100th day building stations...students built with 100 Lego's, 100 popsicle sticks, 100 pattern blocks, 100 cups, 100 linking cubes, 100 dominoes, and completed 100 pieces puzzles.

Before we went home, students predicted if they would be able to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop in 100 licks. Each child was given a lollipop and we counted together as a class to 100 licks...unfortunately no one was able to get to the center!

It was a happy 100th Day and the students had fun while learning a lot!
